PSA introduces Backlog tracker
PSA launched the public PSA Backlog Tracker: so collectors can see the same numbers PSA management team sees and understand when Value tiers will reopen. This temporary pause is tied strictly to operational milestones, not arbitrary dates. After announcing the pause, PSA saw another influx of 4 million card submissions, pushing their global backlog to an unprecedented 14 million. Based on current projections, PSA anticipates it will take 5-6 months to reach their target of reducing the backlog to 5 million units globally before reopening Value tier submissions.
What Is Changing on June 2, 2026?
PSA is aggressively committing their resources to focus on processing the cards currently in their care. This requires a temporary adjustment to their service levels:
Temporarily Paused Tiers: Value Bulk, Value, Value Plus, and Value Max will be closed to new submissions. All active submissions will continue to be processed under the submitted turnaround times.
Remaining Open Tiers: Regular, Express, Super Express, and Walk-Through and above will remain fully active.
Regular Service Adjustment: Because we are approaching a 10-million-card backlog that impacts our entire operational pipeline (from receiving to shipping), the estimated turnaround times for Regular service will be temporarily extended to 40 to 50 days, and 50 to 60 days for dual-service authentication.
